Styles Of Bikinis
Ever since its inception, the bikini has become the top choice of apparel by women when going to the beach. This is largely due to the fact that even though they are skimpy, they are very comfortable to wear, and they do not hamper them while swimming. Not only that, but it gives the courageous ones an excuse to show off their bodies as well, which is by far the men's favorite form of bikini usage.
Bikinis were first introduced back in 1946, in the beach loving country of France. The person who invented it was an engineer by the name of Louis Reard, who named it after the Bikini Atoll. The Bikini Atoll was a site that had been chosen to conduct nuclear weapon testing, and he justified the naming of his invention by saying that 'the burst of excitement created by it would be similar to that of a nuclear device'.
Since then, the bikini has become extremely famous, and it has inspired many different kinds of variants, all which haven't strayed away from the main theme of the bikini. Louis Reard would indeed be proud to know that his invention has paved the way for a business that makes above 800 million dollars annually.

So let us take a look at the different bikini variants. But first, let's look at the bikini itself.
The bikini is a type of swimsuit worn by mostly women that is quite small in size. It offers enough coverage so as to prevent the exposure of the genitalia and the breasts, generally leaving the area in between the two uncovered. It is mostly worn during periods of hot weather or while swimming. The bottoms of the bikinis can range from extremely revealing thongs and G-strings, to very modest shorts.
Tankini: The tankini is the least exposing variant of the bikini. It gets its name from the tank top that is used along with the bikini bottom. Hence, in terms of exposure, it offers quite less. But it is quite popular because it offers the relief of a full one piece swimsuit, but with the convenience of a two piece one. Tankinis are also very popular because they are not limited to a specific age group, so even little kids and elderly people can wear them.
Camikini: The camikini is a combination of a bikini bottom and a camisole top. A camisole is loose fitting, and sleeveless women's undergarment that covers the top part and the midriff of the body. It also generally has what are known as 'spaghetti straps'.
Seekinis are bikinis that are made of see-through material, and hence the name - and they are quite the... saucy type of beachwear. Monokinis are basically 1 piece bikinis, in the fact that only the bikini bottom is used. And so monokinis are also called 'topless bikinis'.
But recently, a new kind of bikini has been gaining rapid strides in the popular groups. It is called the microkini, which comes from the words micro-bikini. And it is probably the smallest ever kind of bikini to grace the planet. The microkini is an extremely skimpy version of the bikini, and it has only enough cloth to cover the sensitive spots. To be honest, the micro bikini probably characterizes the fine line between swimwear and nudity. However, this has not given it any negative value; on the contrary, women are in love with it!
Women who are courageous and daring generally wear microkinis, but be warned, they are not for the faint-hearted.
